Coming Home for Christmas
HOME FOR CHRISTMAS
Hosting Christmas at home is sometimes quite daunting when not only do you have to make the meal and shop for gifts but also there is the expectation to make your home feel festive! Here are a few of our favourite ideas that are easy to do and shop for:
CLASSIC RED AND GREEN
Opting for a traditional colour scheme of red, green and gold makes it easier to source goodies : plus, it forms a good base so you can use the same items year after year, and only add in a few trendy pieces. This year is all about the little red car with a fir tree on top; so do check out Party Piece’s Christmas Car Paper Plates and Cocktail Napkins.
Craft your own wreath, by purchasing Party Piece’s snowy Christmas wreath and adding in Christmas holly bushes or picks with berries and snow. Finish off with a red glitter banner saying MERRY CHRISTMAS. P.S. You may also want to get a pack of the matching paper napkins!
DECK THE HALLS
Invest in a few fake foliage decorations that you can use over and over again. We love the Party Piece’s foliage garlands, bristle decorative Christmas trees and their red berry twig lights. The latter are especially lovely when placed inside a glass vase or bell jar. And a red and white paper banner trimmed with a few sprigs of fir tree does the trick just as well.
TAKE YOUR SEATS
For perfect place settings, add mini brush Christmas tree place card holders, and use any leftover trees to decorate red toy cars, advent calendars or advent candle wreaths.
Crackers are a Christmas Dinner must-have, we love the fun and funky fringe tassel Candy Cane ones!
The quickest way to give your gifts a bit of Christmas cheer is to add some ribbon bows and a bell – and the Party Pieces gold bells even have a tag already tied on!
LIGHT THE WAY
Last but not least, if your decorations are a bit on the light side, dim the overhead lights and line some copper wire LED fairy lights down the centre of the table. You are guaranteed a magical meal!
